Do you think America has a Immigration problem?
we have an 'illegal' immigration problem (people who cross the border illegally, and then proceed to work here and not pay taxes)

Does the current level of immigration that America is experiencing have positive or negative ramifications?
Immigration is good, and we need it, so it is a positive ... but the large number of undocumented 'illegal' immigrants is another story (complicated to say the least)

Do you think America is a melting pot or a salad bowl? Why ? lol ... we are a melting pot of cultures that assimilate into Americans ... (btw, what is a salad bowl?)

we believe that all people are created equal, and all should have the opportunity to follow their dreams of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

A. yes
B. The illegals coming into this country in large numbers pose many problems, not the least of which is the drain on our services like schools and health care. That's a negative
Those that follow the rules, learn our language, customs and history while becoming citizens are by and large a positive influence and always have been.
C. We used to be more of a melting pot... the salad bowl metaphor is the results of the stupid liberal left's vision of "diversity". All that does is divide people into several separate camps, each looking out only for their own interest... where as the "Melting Pot" has *everyone* blending together in one culture, with each sharing aspects of one another. The commonality means that everyone works for a common good.

America is a continent of immigration, the United States is just a country that belongs to the continent of America. The US has an illegal immigration problem because it chooses to... It makes illegal immigration a problem by making the regular joe afraid of illegal immigrants so it can sell it to the taxpayers as a problem that needs a fix. It is hard for immigrants to get here legally, if it was not, they would use the front door. The bottom line is that the US profits from illegal immigration.

I think we do not have the social harmony that we need to survive as a nation. We need to deal with the illegal aliens because that is an illegal process, and while the Democrats desperatly want those voters, it should be a matter of law. We are not a melting pot.. I don't think we are a salad bowl anymore. We are ten course plate and it doesn't go together at all.

Language is the greatest unifyer of the land. We no longer insist all speak it as a reflection of the democrats. We must.. must make it the norm to re-creat the norm.

I think we have an ILLEGAL immigration problem.

I have not heard any problems caused by legal immigrants. For obvious reasons, legal immigrants are law abiding, highly motivated, mostly well educated citizens, and contributes to the society positively.

No, US is not a melting pot. It is very lumpy one at best. Basically, we are at odds with every other group and with each other. I think we took some back steps since 9/11.

Yes, there is an immigration problem because millions of them are here illegally.

Negative ramifications, because the majority of illegals are unskilled laborers with no education, English speaking skills, or ability to assimilate.

Salad bowl, because their are too many ethnic interest groups (La Raza, MALDEF, ACLU) that discourage them from assimilating. They foster a sense of hostility toward American culture and convince people that Americans are evil.

No but we do have an illegal immigration problem and it's getting violent on the border. Over 1000 attacks on the guards last month. Time to break out the machine guns.

America doesn't have an "immigration" problem. America has an I-L-L-E-G-A-L immigration crisis.
