How can aborting puppies be any better than aborting a human?? You are still stopping a life or lives.

and some people say even when the human is too young, there are still ways to save the baby. There are so many people saying the opposite things, I don't know which is right. I know all cases aren't the same. So when is it right?

and there are alot of humans in this world too. alot. and we take up alot of space, that we push back the wild habitat where the animals are squished together with all the stress. then what happens when one animal decides he wants to get out and roam the open paster of some farmer. they shoot it. till the next one comes along

I would rather have the pups be aborted than have them be born into a world where there are already too many dogs, and they will just end up in some shelter. I think abortion is fine for unplanned dog pregnancies. The people weren't responsible enough to keep their dogs from getting pregnant...I doubt they're responsible enough to properly care for the puppies and mother. I also think it is okay if the pregnancy/birth will cause harm to the mother dog, like when it is a puppy who is pregnant.

You talk about how the animal population is already too big. If there is no-one to look after the puppies, then they will become stray. The owners of the puppies get to decided what they want. I may not agree that it's the best thing to do, but some people don't have any other chose. There is no point giving birth to puppies that you can't afford to look after or even feed. It's the best thing to do.

First of all, to be able to make an intelligent, informed decision, you must distinguish between "human" abortion, and "spaying"/"aborting" a litter of puppies.
Dogs aren't human. Never have and never will be despite how the human population tries to humanize them.

Dogs depend on US to do the right thing....sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's not. If we are to believe the "statistics" being spouted by many, (which I don't), then it's logical to "abort" puppies particularly in cases of the b tch being too young, or abandoned, or "whoops"! Why further the problem?

I rescued a b tch several years ago, that had been bred. I took her to my vet the next day and had her spayed. Why bring more unwanted dogs into the equation?

You must remove the emotional side...think of the bigger picture. And remember, dogs are dogs. Not humans.

God...here come the pounders.

How is it right that we have to euthanize them AFTER they are born when there are not enough homes?????

GET A CLUE what animal over-population is all about!!!!

**ladida...you live in a fantasy world. There ARE too many dogs and cats in the world. There are LESS homes. SO, some have to be euthanized. If everyone had juat ONE accident, we would be killing even MORE!!!!!!!! You can pretned it doesn't happen, and not agree with it all you want, but it DOES happen and will continue to happen until more people are ressponsible!!!

***yes, let's let all the animals...dogs, cats, houses, cows...all just GO. And run wild. We would not be euthanizing them, but forcing them to die of starvation and disease. There is no way most domestic pets would survive. Go join PETA if you have not already!!!!!!! They live in that same fantasy world.

I agree with you aborting the animals is just as cruel. Someone mentioned euthanizing them, I never agreed with that either. Before dogs were man's bestfriend, were they not wild animals? Did they not survived on their own. But some of us humans wanted to control them and breeded them and housed them. Then they came us wit hthe excuse of overpopulation and made someone pay for euthanizing the poor dog. Euthanizing costs money, why not use that many to save a life than to end a life. Same as spaying and neutering them. I prefer not to s/n neuter my dog. It has been 4 years and no accidents have happened. You just have to be resposible, and if the dog gets pregnanr, by your accident, maybe you need to be responsble and care fpr the puppies. I do recommend selling the puupies and not giving it away if you plan to give some away. I find that anything given away free is usually not cared for as a pup that is paid for (just from experience).

I am an animal lover, I just do not agree with what we humans have created, the controlling and all the excuses for money scams. I believe euthanizing inncoent animals is one of them. If you do not want to abort the puppies, you do not have to. Remember any surgery is harmfull to humans or animals. It takes time to heal and sometimes creats more problems in the long run. So think twice before doing any surgery to the dogs.

Good luck with your decision.

Also, it depends on the health as well. The dog is too young to have puppies etc. like some have mentioned above.

Response: I do not live in a fantasy world. I am just now seeing the world. I do not believe there is a black and white solution to any problems. Except we make it black and white and sometimes do more far harm than not. I understand both sides of this issue, but I also want to help enlighten. I am very sad about overpopulation and people being irresponsible. But is it just people, are stray dogs not allowed to have *** and get pregnant. And when I say stray, is it a wild or a stray dog? Maybe the solution is just to release all these animals and just let them be wild and let nature do it's job instead of us trying to contol everything. Check out how other countires are dealing with these issues. How is it that other countires have eliminated RABIES and we are one of the leading countires in medical practice and we still have rabies and other dog diseases here is U.S.????

It isn't necessarily right-simply the lesser of two evils.

BTW, NOT-Newfies Rule!!!
