Yeah, I'll bet! If I was them I would say,"Send us $79.95,and we can remove this tracking cookie.",too! LOL! Read on the net, about deleting Norton from your computer. There will be lot's of negative reviews. Then perhaps, you decide if it's the one for you! Free security:
1.Avast, (has a free download)
2.AVG,(same thing)
3.Spybot Search & Destroy,(use with Avast, AVg, or Adaware, etc.)
4.Adaware
Just a few, that kick Norton to the curb!
EDIT: Yeah, tracking cookies aren't a bad thing! I delete Yahoo's, and Googles anyway! 25 years for Yahoo, 35 years for Google.PLus all the other one's I pick up searching for answers. Why do I need a tracking cookie, taking up space on my harddrive, when all I have to do is enter the user name, and password, and the cookie's enabled, anyway!(For the one's I temporarily allow!) I go through Windows Explorer, enable, "Show All Hidden Files and Folders", and bye-bye! Check your Cookies under Owner,(or your name), and the Temporary Internet Files left behind, even after you use Internet Explorer's-Tools/Delete Browsing History/Delete All. Few other places also. I also use CCleaner. Bye-Bye, to all leftover junk,(deleted programs, etc.), taking up room on my precious harddrive! LOL!
Start>All Programs>Accessories>Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer, go up to Tools>Folder Options>View tab. Scroll down to 'Show All Hidden Files and Folders', and click the box next to it. Then + next to My Computer, +Local Disk (C:), +Documents and Settings, +Owner,(or your name),
1.Recent Documents,(double-click)
2.Cookies,(double-click)
3.+Local Settings>double-click right on top of Temporary Internet Files, and same thing with History.
These are just a few of the hidden places stuff lurks! I left-click on the first one, then hold the shift key down, and use the down arrow key. Let go of the arrow key first, then the shift key. Now right-click in the middle of the blue column, and click on Delete in the pop out window. Sometimes you have to back all the way out, and come back to delete the pesky ones.

Control Panel(under the start button),Network and Internet connections, set up or change internet connection, then the box opens, first tab(General) under browsing history, click delete, second box opens to Temporary Files, Cookies, etc. Delete all cookies then. It's a little hard to get around the internet afterwards but , the cookies come back.

you have to use antispyware software. If you into give aways AVG antispyware. Personally I don't like give aways, they don't work as good, and i value my pc. I pick up 5 tracking cookies every time i come and answer your questions. people don't give away software because they nice people, it simply a softer less effective version of a purchased product.

try using another program...
Avg anti virus
avg anti spyware
ad aware se personal

www.ccleaner.com (this erases all personal info that you have stored on your browsers. cookies, passwords, etc.)

If all else fails, download the program "hijack this"... install it then locate where the file is on your computer... (be careful though, this program is very potent and can delete anything... once you have deleted whatever it is, there really is no coming back...)
