Yes, I do. It's funny how unbelievers say that we need to tolerate everyone, yet they won't "tolerate" Christians. What's even funnier is when you are defending the Bible and they get befuddled and start grasping at whatever they can like calling you ugly as if that will really affect my beliefs (happened to me recently). Most of the time all of the information that they used to criticize us is taken from what other people have said; whereas Christians usually defend their faith by using what they know and their opinions on the matter because we know how to think for ourselves.

I don't find it funny, maybe ironic. There is a line in a Mercy Me song...
"The world says this is all there is, yet I believe the One who says there's life after this. Now tell me, how much more open can my mind get?"
What they don't understand is that scripture can only be understood under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. They will never be "convinced" by any of us, because that isn't how it works and they don't get that. They keep looking for some person to explain it in a way that proves something. It's not going to come by our words, only by the revelation of God.
That's why I don't get too caught up in their games. If I believe a question is asked by a true seeker, I may respond and pray that the Spirit would move on them, but most of the time, my answers are only helping me to sort thru the questions and strengthen my own faith.

What's funny is all of the denominations of christians that exist out there. And what's funnier is all the different bibles with different interpretations and scriptures included. But the funniest might be,all those christians that claim to have spiritual discernment and contradict and fight with each other. Now that's good entertainment. Two people that claim to have biblical knowledge supported by god fighting over the same passages. It gets funnier every time i see it.Go on,continue to fall victim to cognitive dissonance. It's a funny fantasy world you live in.That's what's funny.

I was raised Catholic, but have questioned a lot of things in part because of the bible. I am probably the most open-minded person I know. I am one of those people who thinks it's logical to say that most religious people like Jesus, Buddha, Muhammed, may be extensions of the same person (God), or at the very least sent by the same person (God) to perform good works, proclaim God's word, and help people. Think about it, Jesus throughout his life saw horrible sins. He cured the sick said love your neighbor, and forgave people. Buddha pretty much did the same thing. He saw horrors throughout his life after leaving the castle for the first time and sought out to help and cure those people while creating a beautiful religion. Muhammed in the Quran also has the same saying of love your neighbor. There are so many similar examples that I have come to the conclusion that all world religions have truth and I don't think any one religion can say they are the only one true religion. However, I am always open to new ideas. I never have disrepected someone for their beliefs. I respect them because of their faith, even though I don't believe in any one religion.
However, most religious people I come in contact with and speak to, do not want to speak to me because I do challenge their beliefs. I only do so to get them to question things instead of using religion as an excuse to be blinded by faith. I love talking about this stuff. It's great stuff to discuss, but you have to be open minded and not so stuck in your own beliefs in order to really listen. You have to be willing and open to change and be willing to change your mind about something. Change cannot happen without new ideas. Most religious people are so stuck in their ways that they do not and are not willing to change. Which is why they are usually so closed minded. I'd be happy to discuss religion with you if you truly are as open minded as you say, I'll give you a run for your money..... :)

Well then you'll probably think this is hilarious...lol.
When you say "we don't want to hear things which clearly contradict what the Bible says to be correct," that kind of DOES make you closed-minded, doesn't it?
Are there closed-minded atheists? Sure. But atheism is far less likely to produce closed-minded people than Christianity is. Atheism proper is simply saying that you don't believe in "God." Christianity is saying that you DO believe in all sorts of things that - I'm sorry - rather limit your allowed thinking on a variety of subjects. You have a certain notion of "what the Bible says to be correct," and that, to a greater or lesser extent, is your yardstick of the universe. That's why so many "religious" people have trouble dealing with any facts that appear to contradict their beliefs.

No, i dont find it funny they mock the Lord. No, i do not find it funny when they ask D-U-M-B questions? And most of all i do not find it funny that they are lost and are unaware. i do find a few who can quote the bible better then most christians i know. Some really have searched before coming to thier conclusions. But there are so many lies and different beliefs, i understand how one could be confused and look for a logical answer. But you have to know that if they are still lost, God will still be working on thier hearts until they give in to him, or until thier death. It is our job to be patient, and keep trying. Nobody ever said the Lords work was easy.

"Claim to know the Bible, and yet clearly show know functional knowledge of it"
That would be because we don't believe in it, would it not? Knowing what it says isn't the same as following what it says.

As a Christian I prefer not to speak awful things of other people, believers or not. It does not make us better Christians when we put down other people. I find it much better to treat every person and their beliefs with respect because we all are able to chose what we want to believe. As Christians if we want respect we also need to give it.

I am not sure what you mean by the statement "Do you not also find it funny that they claim to know the Bible, and yet clearly show know functional knowledge of it?" I am assuming you mean NO functional knowledge, but perhaps using the word "know" was a Freudian slip, because you know many of us have extensively knowledge of the bible.

Lol. it's the war of close-mindedness.
Frankly, I find your question a bit funny, cause it almost seems hypocritical at points. And more than a bit close-minded...
I dunno. I call Christians close-minded because a lot of them are. And I'm Christian! Whether it has to do with Christianity or personality, I don't know.
