I have two German short haired pointer puppies. The female is 10 months and the male is 7 months. The female went into her first heat last month and we think they had an accident. My 10 month old puppy is pregnant. We can tell beacuse her nipples are swollan and they are bright pink Her stomach is getting like a pouch and she sleeps alot. I am so scared, beacuse a "puppy is having puppies" and she is not experienced. What can I do? Is there a slight possiblity she might have 2-3 puppies instead of 6 or 7. Help!!

the only thing you can do to prevent this is to take her to vet asap and get her spayed. they will abort the pups and spay her.. also please get the male neutered so this dosnt happen again!

If you are not ready, you may want to take her to the vet to either abort the puppies or spay and neuter both your puppies. Whenever a female is in heat, you must separate her with the male immediately.

Countless times... when will people ever learn. Females can be spayed at 5-6 months. It was no "accident" she got pregnant. You have an un-neutered male and an un-spayed female. What did you think was going to happen?

It blows my mind when people are so surprised and Oh a puppy is having puppies! It's too late now. You have to deal with the consequences of your actions. I hope you are more responsible after this and have both spayed and neutered after the puppies are born.

Yes, if it's early enough the vet can spay her.

It's certainly not very safe for her to be having puppies at such a young age. You can take her to a vet to be spayed and they will abort the puppies. Usually it will be a bit more expensive if the dog is in heat or pregnant.

Call your vet right now and scheduale a spay surgery for the girl, and a neuter for the boy. It is urgent that you don't wait.

They will spay the girl, therefore aborting the puppies. And you're right, it is very bad that a puppy is having puppies.

Please call your vet right now!

I would take her in and have her spay. This will eliminate the risk from her giving birth at such a young age and will also prevent this from happening in the future.
You can have the male neutered at the same time so that you don't have to go through it twice.
Get them fixed... and fix the problem!

SPAY!!!!!!!!! If you cannot keep this from happening, then it can happen over and over. Get her spayed and him neutered!!!!!

**OR you can be like "rodeogirl" and turn your dog into a puppy machine!!!!!!! Sounds like a great life for her!!!!!!!
