A vision of the Goddess. I engage in witchcraft as a part of my religion, Wicca, although witchcraft is not its main focus and most witches are not Wiccans.

In my case, I came to the Craft by "accident". I had a client who was a Pagan and needed some help in 2000. (That was the year prior to the start of the witch hunts where I live).
I learned as much as I could about his Pagan beliefs, and I decided to explore other similar beliefs, and found Wicca.
Wicca has given me the opportunity to become a better person, and serve my Goddess in ways I never thought were possible.

I'm not a witch, I'm pagan but can I answer? Hehe
eh long story short, I stumbled through generic paganism, studying Egyptian and realized I am a recon at heart and was then called (rather loudly and dramatically) to the Norse/Germanic gods. Settled right in.
Hail the Aesir! Hail the Vanir!

It's funny, it just kind of happened. I didn't set out to cast spells, but I found I liked using certain symbolic items in my meditations. They helped me focus. When I was trying to conceive my first child, I wanted it so badly I was in tears, and set up an elaborate ritual to help me feel better. And next thing you know, I'm getting the little blue line.
Talking with people more and more I began to think of many of the little things I do naturally, because it feels right, pagans who I respected tended to call witchcraft. I figured it was a fair label and started to think of myself as a witch.
Turns out I kind of have a knack for certain things... :-)

It was something I was always interested in but never allowed myself much study of due to family religion and not wanting to mess with all that, etc.
Then at the beginning of this year I stopped denying my interest and started reading and the more I read the more I realized it felt right and true. It made me feel happy and whole.

A story told to me started the word Pagan rattling around in my head. I finally did some research and found that much of what I read I agreed with. I felt I had found the name to what I already believed.

Studying comparitive religions, then noticing that the most hated, nasty lies were made about all pagans, the more I found the Christian leadership lying the more I saw the truth about Paganism and Wicca

My search for a religion that suited me. Witchcraft sort of is a standard feature of the religion I chose, so... yeah.

I don't think I became one. I think I just learned the name for what I had always been.
