Try a bottle of delicious Turkish Buzbag! hehe, joking.
Look into a Riesling (they can be anywhere from bone-dry to sweet. ask you retailer). Or, of course, you might like a blush wine, White Zinfandel, etc.

Sauvignon blanc is a white wine varietal known for its crisp citrus flavor, it's generally very light and inoffensive. It's a great first step to enjoying truly good wines. Chateau Ste. Michelle is a widely available, inexpensive, and good example.

Depending what part of the country you are in...look into regional wines from your area. Around here Breitenbach wine, an amish wine, makes the BEST fruit wines and they are superior. Reasonably priced, good grapes.. check into it.

How about

Riesling
Chenin Blanc
Pinot Grigio

Or, for a red, how about

Beaujolais
Pinot Noir
