I worked with a guy who decided it would be an act of faith on his part to let go of the steering wheel and let God drive the car. Needless to say, he crashed the car. He was actually surprised!

Faith without wisdom is like voltage without current. You get a lot of sparks and raised hair but in the end nothing really happens.

How bizarre! lol When Jesus was tepted to jump from a 'high place, Jesus responded soundly, saying, “It is also written: Do not put the Lord your God to the test” ( Matthew 4:7 NIV)

Wisdom is the practical side of knowledge. It shows us what is important, gives proportion to what we know, and enables us to use insight skillfully to reach a desired goal. So I guess the question here is, what was this guys goal?

That's not simply without wisdom, that's without a lick of sense! Reminds me of the people (friend swore it was true) who's car broke down on a trip to Berkeley from Santa Cruz, and they sat there and prayed for it to start again instead of calling AAA. Didn't work.

Letting go of a steering wheel is not a lack of wisdom but a huge amount of ignorance.

This guy made a mistake...

Do not test the lord thy God!

Absolutely. There are a lot of dumb Christians out there who think they have faith because they do stupid things to 'test God'. But the scripture tells us not to put God to the test. Satan tried to tempt Jesus to jump off the temple so that God could save Him. But Jesus said "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test", meaning, don't do stupid things to back God into a corner so He has to come to your rescue.
Faith is to be used wisely. A lot of people die in the snake-handling churches, who think it's an act of faith to handle poisonous snakes. It's really an act of stupidity, and God will not honor such dumb thinking.

Haha! Well that is not faith, that is just pure stupidity. Faith without wisdom isn't faith, it's wishful thinking. It's too bad many do not know the difference. Thanks for the laugh.

Faith without charity is meaningless. and faith without wisdom, as you grow in the word you gain wisdom from GOD.but to answer questions without knowledge could lead someone astray. so if you don't truly know what GOD Word says you should not answer the question on what you think you know.

Good grief.... it reminds me of that joke of the guy who was standing on the roof in high flood waters... he said "I have faith, I know God will save me", and prayed for God to save him. A guy in a rowboat pulls up and says "Climb on!" The guys says, "Oh, no, that's ok, I have faith, I know God will save me", and he sends the boat on....a guy in a motor boat pulls up and says "Climb in!" an the guy says the same thing. He starts to wonder why God hasn't saved him yet, and prays again, "Oh God, save me, my faith is great, I know you will save me!" A helicopter flies over, throws down a ladder, the pilot is waving him to climb on, and the guy waves him off, saying "God will save me". By now he is really starting to wonder how come God hasn't saved him, and starts praying again, " Oh God, my faith is great, I believe you can save me, why haven't you saved me yet?" and God parts the clouds, looks down on him, and says "I sent you two boats and a helicopter, what the heck are you waiting for?" Yeah, faith without a little bit of common sense is dangerous.....

Faith COMES from wisdom, and wisdom comes from knowing God's word. Re: your car story, and the dish ran away with the spoon.
