It was in the heat of the moment and she probably figured that since he is a minister and his life more or less revolves around his religion then the best way to hurt him would be tear up his bible.
It doesnt necessarily mean she lacks that same religion; perhaps she does or perhaps she was just that angry and wanted to get back at him.
I think the only reason she tore up the bible was because she knew the effect it would have on him, not because she was anti-Christianity or anything.
She probably wuold have tore up his favorite Shakespeare book if he was obsessed with Shakespeare and she figured thats what meant most to him. See what I am getting at? It was more about a gesture of anger than much else.

Though Christians had been persecuted by Rome for many years, the first assault against their sacred writings came in the year 303Â C.E. Emperor Diocletian then decreed that all Christian books be handed over and burned. Refusal would bring death! Sadly, scores of precious Bible manuscripts were burned in the streets. However, some, like Felix of Thiabara (Africa), refused to turn over the Scriptures. He said: ‘It is better for me to be burned than the divine Scriptures.’ He paid with his life.
For almost a decade this savagery was vented against the Bible. Yet all the might of the Roman Empire could not destroy this book. Copies were carefully hidden until the persecution stopped.
lesson learned.

I guess she was EXTREMELY mad at him, because, being a minister of God, that would probably hurt him the most. I don't know what will happen to her for that. If she repents of it, I guess she'll be forgiven. But, if she doesn't, then, I guess that's up to God to decide. Either way, tearing up God's word is pretty serious, I would think.

Why tear up a Bible? If I happened to be stranded in the wilderness the Bible would provide me with the means of starting a fire and serve as toilet paper. Survival is good reason to tear up ANY book (particularly if the content is lacking in entertainment value).

I would say she tore up his bible because she knew it would hurt him the most. We do things out of anger, that we live to regret...It doesn't make us bad people,,,,but we should learn to control it....even Christians are not perfect...I'd be willing to say,,,even your brother loses his temper at times....I know I do,,but I do try. As long as we are in these human bodies, we will have to deal with human emotions and feelings....that is just the way it is...he should forgive her and move on.

I am guessing that he held to a Biblical standard, and she was not ready for a total commitment to obeying God's word. Some denominatiions give the physical book to much glory. Its the words in the book that have power once they reach your heart and mind. Not the pages themselves.
But God saw her heart and will judge her there, whether or not she rejected God's word on any level. He will not judge her for ripping up pages.
Such judgment is not to hell either.

Its just a book, relax, it can be replaced. She tore it up because she was mad at him and tore up something he obviously valued, in this case his bible.

Transference. Or (accurately) determining that it would be the act that would hurt him the most.
But still, if it's desecration you're worried about, it pales in comparison to Jesus Joints.
