Spiritually speaking, of course...

When did you first experience the art of dance?

Was it beautiful from the first moment you experienced it, or did it grow on you?
How do you practice?

And what of other dancers?
Do you find you enjoy the many different forms? Are there any forms you dislike?

((((((( cosmic dancing )))))))

I only had to realize that I always did, as the greatest 'Dancer’ of All, dances through me. And I needed was to learn to allow, once again; to stop fighting the flow any more, to simply learn to play along with the melody of life, and that is when I began to dance!

And soon it took me to places I could have never visited on my own, the darkest and brightest corners of my being and that of the Universe.

This dance is but a mighty river of joy when we choose to dance along to its flow. Your every cell knows it, when you are dancing with the flow, as it is born out of this Flow.

Yet there is great stillness in this dance, an immense awareness of the presence, and sweet occurrences of synchronicity only add to the sweetness of this giant reservoir of love, that Life itself is.

Dancing lessons... Seriously.

Music always came naturally - I could play you a great tune, I could lose myself in the melodies and rhythms and chords. But dancing was something different, I had to be taught. :-)
And oh, yes, I enjoy some forms more than others - I enjoy the ones that involve dancing WITH a partner, spiritually and literally.

Peace to you.

The first music I learned to spiritually dance with was "Message" by Vangelis. The link below does not give the music justice, but perhaps you will feel some of the power I felt in this song when I first heard it. Enjoy & Blessings.

Who told you I knew how to dance?

If you want the cosmic experience, then it was a friend of mine who was kind enough to like me unconditionally, and who taught me how to not be self conscious, just enjoying the movement for the sake of enjoying it.

I still wouldn't say that what I do looks like dancing to anyone else, but I enjoy it.

I think everyone knows how to dance, they may not be aware of it, may not be able to tap into it, but rhythm; it's inside of all of us. I don't recall any one incidence of actually learning to dance. As long as I can remember I've danced, felt music and the physical response to it.
I've never felt like I needed to practice, it just comes naturally, it's like your souls expression. Yeah, definately soulful expression, think about it. You can actually tell a lot about a person by the way they dance / move their body.

Cosmic dancing? I might have done that when I used to get high, but of course I don't remember because I was high. Do you still like disco? Cause I live for disco!

Physically speaking....It came naturally....the music played, and my body moved, and I loved every minute of it. (still do)
I enjoy other dancers....groove that thang.

Spiritually speaking....It came naturally I must have heard a tone or humm and moved towards the sound. (although, I actually think it's the silence between the tones that has the greatest effect).

I don't know....can't explain it....it just happens.

Peace and Harmony!

I heard the sound and my body moved in rhythm. Perhaps they are one? I love cosmiccoyote's answer the best! I have no memory of when I began......as a child I wanted to be a singer and a ballet dancer, and an artist.

I first learned as a small child, but when I grew older I became too concerned with the audience and forgot the steps...

But I recovered my balance, and though the rhythm and tune have changed from time to time, it's all beautiful.

I took up dancing as a 9 year old. I am a fabulous dancer, cha cha, ballroom, you name it, I could literally dance you off the Floor.
