Soft cooked white rice is good for the diarrhea. Avoid meats and bread. Crackers, ginger ale, tonic water, cream soda and gator aid are all very good. Lots of bottled water and broth. With all the weird superbugs in the news as a precaution, if you haven't yet, get him checked out by a doctor. Hope he gets well soon.

Vomitting - keep him hydrated (non sugar stuff is best, but I like gatoraid). Other then taking an anti-vomiting medicine, he will probably have to deal with that end. Give him easy things to eat, bland stuff (like saltines and chicken noodles soap) frankly campbells chicken noodle classic is great, very simple and easy on the tummy.

Diahhrea - again, keep him hydrated. But you're probably gonna need an anti-diahrea medicine (i.e. peptobismol).

Other then seeing a doctor, your stuck with making him feel comfy and having him "sweat it out". Thing is though, if it continues (two days or so) you may want to take him to a doc, cause then there might be something more serious then just your basic stomach bug.

plenty of rest and clear liquids (chicken broth, Gaterade, ginger ale, sprite)-you want him to stay hydrated b/c of him vomiting and diarrhea. Does he have a fever? Chances are he probably either got a stomach bug or food poison. um, is his tongue a brownish color? When I had food poison once, my tongue turned brown. My father said it happened to him too when he was very sick from it.
like I said, rest and plenty of liquids. You don't want him to dehydrate! Then that will lead into other bad issues.
Sx (symptoms-sorry, I am a nurse habits), of food poisoning are vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, sometimes fever...I have found a site for you on it. look in the source listing. If it doesn't get better in a day or so or if he has high fever or just can't keep anything down-even liquids, then get him to the ER stat! If they have to put him on IVs to keep him hydrated, they will. Hope he gets better!

When I have a condition like your son, I mix 1 tablespoonful of white flour with 1/2 glass of water and drink it down. It's a remedy my mother used when I was a kid and it works for vomiting and diarrhea.

If he is "timid" and refused to drink the flour water, go to the drug store and buy "essence of wild strawberry". It's an "over the counter remedy. It also works.

I wish your son well.
Good Luck!

There are over-the-counter medications which you can buy at your local drug store that will help control these unpleasant symptoms. Consult your pharmacist as to which works the best; and make sure to read the label for dosing instructions and precautions. In the meantime, make sure your son is adequately hydrated: water, juice, broth, soups, jello, ice cream/sherbet/frozen yogurt.

Go to the drug store, buy cola syrup, put 2 teaspoons over 1 cup of crushed ice. Tell him to eat the cola ice, slowly, until it begins to melt, then sip the liquid, slowly, until he finishes the mixture; every 3 hours. It's like a homemade Icy.
Give him Imodium-AD, according to package directions.
He should drink "Smart Water" to stay hydrated.
Don't forget the chicken noodle soup, when he feels like eating!!
Just went thru this at my house.
Hope he feels better soon.

Ok, I know you are going to think that I am crazy when you read this. Trust me it works. My grandmother always made us eat steak and potatoes when we had diarreha and vomitting. I don't know why or how it works but it does. Good luck and I hope he feels better.
