The Force, man... it's sooo out there... it's like waaaaay too hard to describe.

I interpret it as the Divine energy that connects us all to each other and everything around us.

The Force is caused by micro organisms (called midi-chlorians) in someones body. People who have a high count of midi-chlorians are called "Force-Sensitive" and are able to use the Force to their advantage.

It's a fictional story.
The force is whatever the individual audience member hinks is most perfect to suit their perception - that is what fiction promotes.
