I grew up eating a large amount of meat, and loved it but now am vegetarian. I have been for over four years, and I don't miss the taste of it at all. There are plenty of delicious things to eat, plus you get all the great health benefits. Since I stopped eating meat, I've lost weight and have more energy. Plus it's cheaper!
Once you start reading about factory farming, you will feel guilty and probably disgusted. If you still feel that you want to eat meat, try to eat local, farm raised meat that's at least disease free.
There are plenty of famous vegetarians out there too, so you'll be in good company!

Well, if you really feel this way then don't ever watch a PETA video. Then, you will never eat meat ever again. If you cannot make a conscience decision to become a vegetarian, I would advise to at least looking in eating more organic foods (meats, milk, veggies, etc.). Certified organic food is raised/grown free of pesticides and hormones and organic animals are free range and not cooped up for life. It's more expensive, but, the guilt is less for both you and organic item.

I felt guilty once in college when I visited my friend at the Vet Center and petted a cow. It was actually really cute and nice ... her eyes reminded me of a horse a little bit.
But, I still eat meat today! I guess it didn't make me feel guilty ENOUGH. I still don't eat deer or bunnies, tho. I just have my own personal limits.

Hey Thugalicious. I've never felt guilty eating meat, not even after watching Aunt Mabel wring the chicken's neck.

Not at all. Plants are living things too. I don't feel guilty about those either. People have been eating meat for centuries.

If you want to be a vegetarian it's your choice, me I always keep a freezer full of all types of meat, but there are some veg-heads that do eat types that isn't considered red meat.Ex. seafood, and poultry I don't see the difference.

the animal is already dead. you cant save it by abstaining from eating it. if you don't eat meat where will you get your protein? you'll be as weak as a kitten in as little as over a year. no offense to anyone but i think being a vegetarian is kinda... fruity... sorry... ignore that.
