don't be upset. what you are saying is normal. all of us are having the same situation, but with different degrees. we are not angels. our life is a strugle between good and evil. we are trying to avoid haram and do halal as much as we can. consider the following:
1- if you avoid the major sins (kaba'aer) , then you are still in the normal level
2-first you have to determine your sins.
3- don't depend only on yourself. Allah gave us different weapons to fight the evil inside us. use them as much as you kan. i.e. Althikr (see above in Umm Ali's answer), sincere Doaa (asking Allah). don't get bored and always ask Allah for his help.
4- being succecful in stop making sins is not the end of the way. you must preserve the state you have reached. this is much more difficult, but it is possible by Allah's help.
5- bad thoughts during praying are the knightmare of most muslims, but you can do the following:
a) make good preparations before starting. i.e. good Wudu (ablution), aquire the intention (al-neya) to have a perfect prayer, ask Allah to help you overcoming Satan.
b) don't use ayat from Quran that you usually use. try to memorize new ayat and use them. this increases your concentration during praying.
c) if there is a Sunna prayer before the main prayer try to make it.
d) try to pray in Gamaa (i.e. masjed) and listen carefully to the Imam
e) if you are praying alone, don't be in a hurry and pray calmly.
don't be upset if you failed. try many times and don't surrender. remember gaining hasanat is not that easy. it neads a lot of work. earning hasanat is not due to success, but you can earn them for trying and doing your best.
May Allah help us all to worship him in the way he likes

once you social gathering till at last your hair smells like smoke, you haven't any longer any theory the place the garments you're wearing got here from, and you do no longer know how the heck it have been given to be 3 days later, it somewhat is a social gathering. I lived in an apt whilst i became into youthful with my maximum suitable pal who became right into a drug broker at that element. I keep in mind dozens and dozens of untamed roaring under the effect of alcohol and stoned events the place i did no longer have a clue who 80% of the human beings at it have been, of path the furnishings did no longer thrive in that atmosphere. i do no longer know no count number if the final straw for me became into the fool that concept pouring a bottle of vodka into the aquarium became into an exceptionally good theory reason the "fish would desire to get lit too", or the fool I caught feeling my subconscious fiancee up, a scene rather such as Jesus clearing the Pharisees out of the temple ensued after that one, i know that. besides Zacho, you have relaxing, yet for Me, i'm kinda happy it somewhat is throughout. i'd say social gathering by ability of Boston. BA: Geeze, it would be an undesirable long record. **PJ, Amen on your amen, brother

Take it easy there Sis! We ALL falter at times and get distracted...Usually because of other stressors in our life that come up to haunt us during our private prayer time (seems none of us have any peaceful quiet times anymore besides prayer- we are so overstimulated in life!)
Just try to stay focused on why you are praying, not just going through the motions out of duty.
You may not feel 100% every single time but just keep trying...Allah is most merciful :)

First of all, you need to calm down!
Believe me, no one is perfect. Even the people who see who you think are praying perfectly have occasional inappropriate thoughts and make mistakes sometimes. The important thing is that you keep on trying. Even if you make a mistake, just keep trying.
Say: O My servants who have transgressed against their own souls, despair not of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah az-Zumar 39:53)

Sister, you keep reciting LAHOL WALA QUWATTA ILLA BILLAHILALIYUL ADHEEM. This will help u alot. and while praying, I know sometimes our mind starts thinking something else like what the aunt said etc lolz.. so to avoid that, when you recite surah while praying, try to focus on the wordings of the surah. try to get the fonts in your eyes and try to pronounce every word, the right word. This will inshAllah help you alot ~!

Hating is not healthy, at all. whether its yourself or other people.
thats why people murder or commit suicide.
i never hated a single person in my life or myself, and i think people who kill have absolutely no heart and are evil.
maybe you think this stuff because you watched something on tv or something in your life happened that you can't get your mind off it.
its completly normal, just be happy you even think at all.
if you didnt you would be dead, lol.
or maybe it's because you are trying so hard.
dont worry, one day you'll be alright and able to concentrate on prayers without any bad thinking.
p.s. this happens a lot to me before i go to sleep, thats why i try to leave the tv on so i wont think of bad stuff or stuff that makes me anxious.

it is a quality of a Muslim to always keep trying. if u are having bad thoghts while you ar praying, try to block them. try to think about the meaning of what you are reciting, try to think that you are standing infront of Allah and that salat is the closest that a person gets to Allah. and you fail, just keep trying. that's all. may Allah help you.

Keep trying Allah/God measures actions according to your intention, even if you mess it up, your sincerity may be better than someone who has done the action correctly but out of pride.
Keep trying
