if you have a problem with it, like the shakes in the morning, can't sleep without a drink, wake up next to scary women, then yeah, you got a problem. If you function fine then no. America recently (after lets say 1970) took to a very puritan approach to drinking. It was no longer acceptable to go out and have a few beers. The view shifted from the pub being a social gathering point to a place to hide from life. Once the ban cigarettes, booze will be next.

i copied this from a wiki web site on alcoholism, i dont thinks its extremely common to choose, whilst even the experts have concern "id of alcoholism could be complicated because of the fact there is not any detectable physiologic difference between a man or woman who beverages in many cases and a man or woman with the condition. id includes an purpose assessment with reference to the wear that imbibing alcohol does to the drinker's existence whilst in comparison with the subjective reward the drinker perceives from eating alcohol. whilst there are a number of situations the place an alcoholic's existence has been severely and clearly broken, there are continually borderline situations which would be complicated to categorise. Screening various kit could be used to hit upon a loss of administration of alcohol use. those kit are frequently self comments in questionnaire style. yet another straightforward topic is a score or tally that sums up the final severity of alcohol use. * The CAGE questionnaire, named for its 4 questions, is one such occasion that is used to show screen sufferers at as quickly as in a doctor's place of work. 2 "definite" responses point out that the respondent would desire to be investigated extra. The questionnaire asks right here questions: a million. have you ever felt you mandatory to shrink down on your eating? 2. Have human beings aggravated you via criticizing your eating? 3. have you ever felt in charge approximately eating? 4. have you ever felt you mandatory a drink first project interior the morning (Eye-opener) to secure your nerves or to do away with a hangover?[15][15][sixteen] The CAGE questionnaire, between others, has been distinctly examined to be utilized in figuring out alcoholism. it is not valid for analysis of alternative substance use themes, even inspite of the undeniable fact that extremely changed variations of the CAGE are in many cases carried out for this style of purpose. No, you're not an alcoholic. In fact, it's been proven that a bit of alcohol a day can help your bloodflow and keep you less tense and stressed. Most recommend a glass of red wine, but in all actuality, a glass of stout is just as good if not better.

If you have to have a drink everyday then I would say you were an alcoholic no matter if is a few or many. See if you can go for a week or two without drinking, this will answer your question.

Well, considering the fact that many doctors reccomend a glass or two of wine every day to help with preventing heart disease, I think it it's wrong to pidgeon-hole someone for drinking every day.
The degree to which one drinks every day and his or her ability to say 'no' after a couple is a better barometer.

If it has ever caused negative consequences in your life and you still continue to drink you may be an alcoholic. Most "normal social drinkers" do not ask themself that question.
