The bible says in Romans that there is none righteous n0 not one. Well it stands to reason that if none of us are righteous within ourselves then the only righteousness we can possibly have has to come from some other source. And that source is Jesus Christ. And because it is Jesus Christ then all that have received Jesus into their hearts do have the same right standing with God,which in es sense is righteousness.
By the way the theme of the book of Romans is the righteousness of God. And it is well worth the time to study that great book of the Bible.

Yeah -- self-righteousness. A lifetime of bad experiences with Christians has proved to my satisfaction that self-righteousness is the only kind the great majority of Christians actually have. The fantasy righteousness of your imaginary God is every bit as elusive as He is. I honestly don't understand how any sane person could believe such obvious nonsense.

Righteousness as in forcing you to believe and then saying all others are false. Righteous as in if you don't agree with the ruler you are diminished.
Righteous as in telling members to give all their money to the offering plate and then you later see them in a touring bus that appears to be a theatrical star's. Really happened at an Assembly of God conference. Money should be going to the 143 million orphaned children who want to be valued as much as newborns.
Thanks for the question. We need all the help we can get here in the US with bringing the brainwashed back to earth and to wake them up to what is happening. Things are getting bad and they are so easily controlled with their eyes focused elsewhere.

I understand that all Christians receive the righteousness of Christ when they are baptized. I also understand that they can forfeit it through sin. I know you will deny this, it's an old argument. Feel free to e-mail me if you want to discuss in detail.

Sorry to say, but not all Christians are righteous. The are some Christians that are false, and as I am concerned they are not Christians. I know some Christians, and they are worse then some of us. I am more spiritual then religous, Spirituality is in the Heart. I don't go to church, so does that make me an unrighteous person, I think not........God Bless!!!People have their own beliefs and that's OK. But the Bible is where it's at....The Only Truth

And what kind of righteousness would that be? Self-righteousness? That seems very common among people who think their belief system is the absolute truth.

Some are more righteous than others depending on their walk with God. Sanctification is a lifetime process.

I don't think Christians as a whole are righteous at all. If by "righteous" you mean moral and virtuous - I have to disagree with your statement.

And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

BUT ITS GOD's RIGHTEOUSNESS
