i know that professional photographers have copyrights etc.....
but wht abt regular ppl? like the ones that post pics on social networking sites?

anyone can take them and use them as they wish, can the person that took the pic/person that is on the pic, can they do anything abt it? legally?

There is one exception to that rule. Since I am a civilian US Government photographer any pictures I upload (and other photographers) to various military news organizations, photo banks etc., they now become public domain.

But for all other photographers and other websites they have a copyright and you can get yourself in trouble.

Hope this helps,
Kevin

no, you cannot use a photo that doesnt belong to you... just because a photograph isnt taken by a 'professional' doesnt mean that copywrites dont apply. im guessing you mean on like myspace etc?? can you take osmeone elses picture and use it? well for one, why would u want to do that/ and 2, would you want someone else to use YOUR photos without ur express permission?

You steal. You get caught, you get fined, and hit up for damages. You get personal property seized, liens placed on house / car, and credit suffers. Just because your too lazy to ask about a user license of some sort, or do your own work.

No, the copyrights belong to the photographer and yes, you can get sued.

Another morally challenged person, let me explain it for you

you want to steal things from other people, you dont care if its right or wrong just if you can be punished. Shame on you!!!
