I'd ask them for proof of this seeming coincidence. Who's to say that any aliens advanced enough to make it here from another star system haven't been studying us for a while so they could find a way to appeal to one of our strongest cultural forces (which, sadly, has been religion for a helluva long time) and either lull us into a false sense of security or pave the way for friendship between our peoples? Even if they're not simply making it up to put us at ease or whatever, it's already a huge enough coincidence that an intelligent spacefaring species was able to find and communicate with us in a way we could understand, who's to say they wouldn't have their own version of a religious messiah? Jesus may simply be their translation for a story as old as Horus and Mithras! No, I would need a lot more than simply saying "Oh, that guy! Yeah, we know him too" to believe that the universe was created and run by the biblical god in the way that terrible mish-mash of bronze aged metaphor and parable called the bible describes.

He's an "allegory": Galatians 4

jethro was an alien: Exodus 18:3
job was an alien to his kinsfolk & friends: Job 19:15
david was an alien unto his mother's children: Ps 69:8
jews lost their houses to the aliens: Lamentations 5:2
you were an alien in time past: Ephesians 2:12

law heroes fought against the aliens: Hebrews 11

but God hath provided some "better" thing for us

Grace --> Mercy ---> Peace with you all. Amen.

He was born here on the earth. An alien is someone from another planet. Unless you are talking about him being an illegal alien, but he wasn't that either. His parents were legal citizens, because they had to pay taxes, which is what they were doing when they went to Bethlehem. This means Jesus was in no way an alien.

interesting theory... so why do you think He came?

lets step back and look at the picture....
He made the stars also... even the ones too far away for Star Trek to get to or SG1 with the whirligig wheel thing
He was from above... sure...
He came because God was ... alien... to us as we were estranged from God
But get a grip... no aliens is laid in an animal feeding trough when they wuz born Dr Macoy chief medical officer of Enterprize would NOT allow it such contact with germs.... and our hearts are worse than germs... .
Even the peep on star treck if they hung on a cross for 6 hours and died couldnt walk outta their graves..

Jesus wasn't an alien. He was 100% human and 100% god. I'm sure because it's in the bible

Implantation would explain the immaculate conception but I doubt Jesus was an alien. Funny. I can't explain why I doubt that but I do. Maybe I should think some more and come back.

He was an alien.(edit: Not in the sense you are thinking, he wasn't an extraterrestrial) He was not from this world. He was also a human being while here on earth. He came to this world to save it. For those who confess their sins, accept forgiveness from Jesus and turn away from your sins, you will have salvation and a new life of hope.

(edit: depends on the definition you are going for.)

I am 100% sure.
He told me so.

He is not alien to me. TO some, He is. They cannot comprehend such love. It's alien to them.

well, metaphorically speaking, he was actually an "alien" to the world. he came into the world to be the light of all men....light in a world enwarped by the power of darkness. but men did not recognize him. hence, he was virtually an "alien" to them. And so, he was misunderstood, spat upon and finally crucified.....and he bore it all for our sake. so yes...he was an "alien" in teh eyes of men ....since men were too blinded by the darkness to recognize who he really was, and the reason why he came.
