It's a very spiritual feeling. It's hard to explain but i'll do my best. All of a sudden your mind goes into a different pathway of thinking. You feel this strong sense of emotion, and power flow through you. I would reccomend reading Siddhartha by Hesse, he has wonderful descriptions of an enlightenment!

being enlightened is coming to the knowledge of something or someone
or Understanding the TRUTH
and KNOWING IT IS TRUE
and not an opinion or a" i think so "
Being enlightened to God is
KNOWING
and without Doubts
and IS, an always WAS
a part of YOU
and a Knowledge of IT IS !!
much like life itself
you live
thus you are
God is the same
HE JUST IS
and you KNOW IT !!!

I believe in enlghtenment, but I also believe that you will not meet anybody who can tell you what it's like.
How many enlightened people have you met?

Jesus said "I am the light of the world." So to be trully "enlightened", and not well-deceived, a person would need to be born again, and have Jesus Christ as their Savior.
