not a very good idea, but of course people do it all the time and end up with very ugly tattoos.

probably not a good idea.
how are your drawing skills and do you have an extremely steady hand? hope so.
you need to have the right tools and know what youre doing and make sure to look after the tattoo site, like any other tattoo or piercing and keep it clean, and out of the sun for a couple of weeks at least.
i know a few people who draw their own tattoo's and its not a good idea because whenever they are drunk or bored they make a new one.
someone i knew had real tat's all over and got them removed then got drunk just after that and drew all new ones on with her own tattoo gun and indian ink!
so unless you can keep your tats to a reasonable amount, you have a steady hand, you can draw your own tats and care for them why they heal you should rethink doing it.
oh haha i knew someone who tattoo'ed the F-word inside their mouth coz they were bored and ran out of room haha

it's the Internet and I say go for it if you're willing to do one or more of the following:
1. catch some nasty disease
2. get a nasty infection
3. wind up with some nasty bacteria that causes you to lose the finger(s) you tattooed yourself. you might just lose the hand too.

NO! if you make a mistake that'll cost, 1000 times more than getting it done at a professional to get it removed, you'll get infected, it's permanent, and can be very dangerous to hand. BIG NONO!
