Rice contains a little cornstarch. The rice manufactures do these to prevent the grains from sticking together.
If you want to wash it, that's your choice. A little cornstarch never hurt anyone.

Pretty much is at this point however there were some reasons for wshing rice. It used to be done to remove the bran from the rice. It was also done for sanitary reasons in the past. Now there is an availability of pre-washed rice and sanitary conditions are obviously much better than centuries ago. It is also a cultural ritual in many asian countries.

If you don't it will stick together more.
There are no health implications, just do it to make proper fluffy rice not some sort of rice pudding slodge.

Washing before using, your washing off dirt, & even the dead bugs they float to the surface. White rice is only carbs. So if you don't wash it you maybe lucky to get dead bugs/insects which contain a tiny bit of protein.

No food can make you fat. Saying a food made you fat is like saying a gun killed JFK. The gun can do nothing without a brain and body behind it. Whether or not you get fat depends on your exercise level, your hormone levels and what you choose to eat and in what quantities. To make wise choices, though, you need to know what is in white rice. White rice, like white flour, is a refined grain. Refined grains have had certain parts removed: the parts that contain the majority of the grain's fiber, vitamins, minerals and micro nutrients. Refining a grain does not make it have more calories: whole grains like whole grain brown rice have the same amount of calories as refined grains. Sometimes more. You can get fat from eating too much of either one. The issue is whether those calories come with any benefit. With white rice, you are basically eating all the calories, but with very little nutrition. One cup of long grain brown rice has 215 calories, while write rice has 205: almost no difference in calories, but a lot of difference in nutrition. There is also a difference even in the calories. When you eat any kind of refined grain, you are basically eating sugar. It gives you a quick burst of energy, spikes your insulin levels and leaves you with no long term nutrition or energy. If you choose whole grain rice, you get complex carbohydrates, which are what your body really needs, and people who eat those complex carbs as opposed to refined grains tend to be at less risk for obesity, heart attack and diabetes. So avoid the white rice, and the white flour or "wheat flour." Stick to whole grain brown rice and whole wheat flour. You'll be getting good nutrition, feeling full faster and longer and will probably end up eating fewer calories in your meals: I say probably because that is ultimately up to you. But you will feel fuller and will be tempted to eat less if you stick to whole grains.
