My favorite is cobra, it's indian and less gasey than regular beers. Why not try King Cobra or another type of beer to eat with a meal. It is about the same strength as wine, and that is obviously part of the taste. Prehaps it would be a good middle ground. They are quite expensive though.

Well if you are going mainstream, I would suggest New Castle, Heineken, or Guiness. If you can get your hands on specialty beers I just tried Cut-throat up in Salt Lake City, which was delicious.
