Hi I'm kevin and my height is 5'7 also i weigh around 210 lbs. My question is how do I gain muscle in my arms and chest area? Currently I am having trouble doing push ups and my max is about 3 and also i cannot do any pullups. I don' have a bench but i do have a set of dumbbells . The reason for me asking this easily answered question is in 5 weeks i am leaving for a military school and I don't want to be struggling while everyone one else is doing it with ease.

Please help if you havr any ieas.

Thank you

Dont try to do do something whats not working for you.If you can do only 3 push ups and cant do any pull ups start from the beginning.Start doing cardio first thing in the morning that will get your cardio vascular health up,and start going to the gym if you can just to do most simple movements, like machine chest press that would give your chest, triceps, shoulder muscles feeling of the weight.Like shoulder press that would help your shoulder and triceps muscle gets stronger also.Just simple stuff like that will work very well for you just in the beginning of your long journey. And i just listed very few thing what you need. But i am going to list few more exercises for you.
If you have only dumbbells at home start doing something like this.
1.laying on the floor dumbbell press
2.seated on the chair shoulder press
3.triceps kick back
4.alternative dumbbell curls
5.dead lifts
6.lunges

its very simple right, just do something like this for a few weeks and after that you can start going to the gym and use free weight or machines and you will feel much stronger.
And remember cardio very first thing in the morning.

Good luck and keep us updated

By the way you not going to get big,but in shape.
