There was an issue with some PS2 consoles and GTA SA, because GTA SA is the first game, which uses Dual-layer DVD. Contact Sony.
If not this issue - try cleaning the lens with a special spray or with alcohol and Q-tips. If disc is dirty - clean it.

HI, usually it says this if your console is from a different region, or if the game is a copied one and your PS2 isn't chipped... Cleaning the disc, meh, doubt it'll work.. Does your friend also have the same region ps2 as u?

yes clean the disc

as long as it is not a pirate copy,
then you need a chipped ps2 and maybe a radio disc

You are better treating your self to a secondhand copy of the real game

but clean the disc its a good bet

Try cleaning the disk. It may have a scratch on it. You can buy a disk cleaner at a local game store or best buy.

Hope this helped

Try cleaning the disc or get a Qtip and very gently dust off the laser lens.

Never heard of this, maybe the CD is faulty? Ask your friend.

I'm surprised you are baffled by this? You should already expect nothing but faulty equipment from Sony!
