My husband is recovering from the stomach flu and he's finally able to eat, but he says he can't tell what sounds good to him. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could make him for dinner that would be easy and light on the stomach?

********CREAM OF FRESH MUSHROOM SOUP
4 oz. butter
3/4 c. flour
1 lb. mushrooms
6 c. chicken stock (may substitute chicken bouillon cubes)
1 sm. onion
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. sherry wine
1/4 tsp. white pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. lite cream
Eliminate salt with bouillon cubes.
I substitute skim milk and it works fine.
Use heavy bottomed pot. Saute onion, chopped fine, in 4 ounces butter for 3 minutes. Wash mushrooms. Chop 3/4 pound very fine and add to pot. Saute another 5 minutes. Add flour, blend thoroughly. Add chicken stock and simmer 20 minutes, stirring often.
Meanwhile, slice remaining 1/4 pound mushrooms and saute with 2 tablespoons butter and sherry. Add cream, salt and pepper to first mixture. Bring to boil and strain. (I strained the mushrooms at first, but found the soup to be thicker and tastier when left in.) Add sliced mushrooms and liquid for garnish.

Mac and Cheese? You don't want something too spicy and you want it to stick around in there and stay down. Don't make it to greasy though.
Or how about scrambled eggs? And dry toast ?
