Do you need a land line phone to use The Dish Network?

We have DISH and do not have our land line hooked up. If we want Pay Per View, we call or order on the DISH web site. Hooking up to the landline just makes it easier to order if you want. Also, DISH can send you messages that will display on your TV if hooked up.

But the installers are told to do this and they lose money when you don't let them install it. The company likes to know where their boxes are.
