Hum....I used to study from the site of german channel Deustche Welle ( DW ).
I found the portuguese-german version and I really liked it, i'm a not good speaker cuz I quit the course and now i'm looking for french learning since I decided to move to Canada.

Here's the page for eng-ger learning, they have the same course "Deutsch - warum nicht?"
It's easy, funny and good one course if u trully wanna speak ger. If u are looking for some tips just for "tourists" I suggest the BBC course, there are a lot of german steps for quick basic learning:

Ich hoffe es war nützlich. Auf wiedersehen =)

http://dict.leo.org got me through Germany, school there, and a German degree here. It is extremely thorough with translating many senses of words and phrases, and all the verbs have live links to conjugation and pronunciation. There are forums and resources there, too.
