Well, I'm depressed... I foolishly bought a microphone and a mic preamp, but I have no speaker. It was supposed to be my Christmas present, and now I only have a week before Christmas and I can't use my mic. Please tell me what kind I should get (under $100 please, it doesn't have to be perfect, I just want my voice louder) and where to get it. By the way, I have a PreSonus Preamp and a Nady SP-1 microphone, and my purpose is to sing with a guitar. Please help me!

In the USA, take your mic and preamp to Radio Shack. They will mate it to an amp that will fit your needs, and it probably will cost under $50.

You should look into the Crate Limo or Taxi Amp. Not only can you play guitar through it, but it also has an XLR input for your microphone AND you can charge it overnight and use it for 8 hours or more as a self powered amp anytime and anywhere.

Crate does make smaller models of this amp but some of them only have two 1/4" inputs one of which you can use for a mic with a 1/4" cable or adapter for your XLR but the mic sound quality is only passable. Make sure the one you try has an XLR.

I have the Limo and I love it. Several guitar players I know also have them.

Head to a private guitar store somewhere and tell the guy about it. You can probably get something for under $50.
