Sure, if it was used the right way. Religion is like a double edged sword. It can cause peace & harmony as much as war & destruction. It all depends on the people.

Unfortunately, people seem to have an evil nature. History tells us that people had been at war more than peace. But we also know that history is a struggle between minority groups, the majorities just lean toward the victor. Therefore, if the few good prevailed we would have peace. I guess we can either be among those few good people, or find out where they are & support them.

I do not think that Organised religion can help or teach us much, however I feel personal betterment and the development of morality (which can be based on the foundation of a religion or not) can help towards world peace. If people simply sat down and thought that
"I will try to cut down and stop the bad things I do and try to increase the good, kind things I do"
then for whatever reason they did it the world would be a better place :)

Love and Kindness to all

No, not in the beginning. Even Jesus said he came not to give peace to the world infact he would wind up deviding households and brother would be against brother. However, we do achieve a personal, individual peace that we can not get fully anywhere else. Anyone who has been abandoned by a loved one should recognize that nothing in this life is certain (except for a personal but unchangeable God.)

Yes. The basic tenets of all religions include the concept that we are all good people and that peace is our natural desire. Religion only diminishes peace when the evil people distort religion to their own selfish ends.

i find it highly doubtful.
it may start that way. and it may succeed to some degree....at first
but in the end...religion will restart the fighting ... that was originally started due to some form of religion. which can be said about almost every war ever waged.
this planets best chance at world peace...will be one in which religion has been put away. and the human race will be accountable to each other instead of hiding behind religion.

Yes, once it is converted back into the science it evolved from and proving that only the God Yahweh exists. This will lead to a one God world belief system which means everyone in every country will think as one. This over time will lead to world peace. May I add that Yahweh and I are working on solving this problem as we speak.

No, because peace is the absence of war. Despite what people say, there is no link between religion and war so why would there by one between religion and peace?

Short answer...No!
But I am not an atheist...I just do not believe that
God = Religion!
If religious people of all faith, believe that their God gave them Free-will, so "he" would know that they were choosing to "Love" him- and not forcing them to love him...I am confused as to why all of the religions of the world, feel that they have the right to force their followers to do so???? I wonder why their god would give his people the right to choose, only to tell his people to make them choose him...by laws such as.."You shall have no other Gods before me" How does that work?
