When thedigital switch over things happens dose everyone with an old tele ave to buy a new one??? whats it all about anyway i dont understand what its bout im always hear about it on the tele but dont have a clue lol

You don't have to do anything for the switch over and your old TV will still receive a signal as long as you have a satellite dish,cable TV or a set top box.You will need to buy a new video recorder though if you wish to record something on a different channel to the one you are watching.

the transmission you TV gets at present analogue signal, as from next year, the signal will be digital.

That means unless you have a Digital TV or a digital receiver ie Free-view box, you TV screen will be Blank, no picture
Free-view box are as little as £25.00.

your TV Ariel will still pick up the digital signal

buy a freeview box, unless u already have sky, virgin media, ntl or a tv with the digital sign or from 2008, the tv will no longer work.

Get you a set-top box converter, if you're poor government will give you one free.

you have to pay £250 for your old tele to be recycled the another £750 for a new tele and a further £250 for a new licence
