Go to a stationary shop or a craft store: Hobby Lobby, Jo Anne's, Michaels etc.
Good luck
Added: You do need to have a high-end quality ink-jet printer for home made invitations to look good. Most printers (like the ones that come standard with your PC) will make the ink smear or give up after a few invites. You can also go to kinko's for them to print them for a few cents each.

Go to Michaels and get the paper. If they do not have enough there you can order the paper from them. Keep in mind that it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get the paper in that you want. Make sure you order it in plenty of time. That is what I did with mine. They turned out so good. Make sure you have a good cutter(trimmer) too. That is really important. I spent 25 dollars on one at Michaels. You can go to a scrapbooking store also, or even walmart. Depending on what color you want. Michaels has a better selection though.
Good luck and congratulations.

So you just need a heavy paper? Any office supply store sells card stock. It thin cardboard and it comes in all kinds of different colors. You can buy a whole ream of it.
Also, a lot of store (I know Target does) sells invitation kits that come with blank invites to run through your computer.

Look around for some place that specializes in specialty papers. I've also seen paper similar to what you have in mind at Staples. You might want to ask youe wedding coordinator if she/he has any info for you.
PS: I like the red and white cake. Very classy.

Google specialty papers and you will probably find it for cheaper than most craft stores. I ordered vellum and cardstock for my invitations and found it much cheaper in bulk online.
Congrats on making your own invitations!! Contrary to previous posts, hand-made invitations allow you to put a personal touch to your invitations. I am a very hands-on bride and thoroughly enjoyed making my invitiations. Everyone says they turned out beautifully, and I couldn't be happier!!

Honestly, you're not going to find paper like that (colored with the stripes), and if you print the stripes yourself it won't look the way you want it to. If you are going to make your own invitations, go for a simpler design, in black ink only, on what ever nice paper you can find that is compatible with your printer.

Go to an office supply store and check what they have in stock as well as what they can order for you. Office Max, and Staples normally have a decent supply, but sometimes is more seasonal around the holidays.

Don't be tight... handmade invitations look cheap and scream... couldn't afford to buy them you are coming to a cheapo wedding.
Don't get taken in by the shabbychic brigade... even WHSmith is better than tat.
You deserve better than that, you tell children at school to make Christmas cards from the heart and save their pennies but...
