Ok, when I first got engaged, I bought a ton of those brides magazines. I have quite a big stack of them, but really don't need them. Seems silly & wasteful to just throw them out.
Does anyone know, will thrift stores accept donations of magazines? Any other creative ideas for what I can do with them?

If I can recycle them, that solves the problem :) For some reason, I didn't think glossy paper could be recycled?

i have a bunch of them as well i threw out most of them out but i saved a few and am putting together a memory book of the wedding and events and in the back of the book i have a few of the magazines and I hope one day when i have a daughter or daughter inlaw that i will pull out our book of memories to show her and have those old magazines to reflect on the styles of dresses in my era.
it may be fun to look back at old fashions with a few in stash somewhere.

Most thrift stores, used book stores even the public library will take any type of magazine. If anything you can recycle them if you have a recycling center that way they can be recycled and reused.

Do you have any girlfriends that are getting married? After my wedding I had a stack of books that I waste dmoney on and one of my friends at work had just gotten engaged, she was the benefactor of all those books, I never thought about the magazines, but I bet she could have used those too at least for some ideas even if the fashions were outdated by then.

Dump them in the recycle bin.
Most thrift stores don't accept magazines unless they are fairly new (1 yr old or newer).

Ok, the quick answer is: recycle them.
You could donate them to any grounp that does collage type projects. Something like a school, or the girl scouts.
I get what you´re saying, they are always printed on lovely thick paper, and full of incredible photos...but the fashions aren´t really worth keeping them, either.

Donate them to a local community college. Chances are, they have design majors that could use the pictures in the magazines. Also, libraries and hospitals always need more magazines. It saves them money! You could also donate them to charity or put a free ad in the paper to give them away (most newspapers don't charge for ads for free things). Also, try Freecycle.org and find your city. MANY women are looking for just that same thing. Heck, I could even use them.

Try to recycle them. Or give them to a thrift store.

You could probably call around to a few thrift stores and find one that will accept them. I would wait until after the holidays though, they are likely being inundated with stuff right now.
You could also call a few small bridal shops in your area and see if any of them would like them to put at the front of their store or for the incoming brides to take.

I gave some of mine to a friend who was also getting married, and the others I just recycled.

You can give them away to others who are planning on getting married soon, or give them to a donation type organization, or just recycle them :)
