If you have friends in Germany, Poland, Russia or other countries in Europe - they can get it for you cheaper. They are so expensive in UK probably because of tax policy. BTW, UK isn't a record breaker. They are also very expensive in Middle East and some other countries. The cheapest countries are Japan and Hong Kong.
