Also, I can drink with my retainers in right?

That happened to my best friend. She got her braces off and almost immediately she noticed a gap between her two front teeth and she had her braces on for like 5 years. It is normal because your teeth have memory and they will try to shift back to their original positions before the braces. A retainer can only do so much, what you should have gotten were permanent retainers, which are small thin metal trips that they place on the back of your teeth to keep them from shifting. I'm surprised that my friend's ortho and yours didn't use them. What I would do is call your ortho first thing in the morning and schedule an appointment to meet with him to figure out what to do about that. You paid a lot of money and endured a lot in the 4 1/2 years to have it go down the drain for nothing.

I had a lot of pain when I got mine off. Give it a few days and if it doesn't feel better, give your doc a call. They may need to adjust the fit of the retainer. But I do remember a ton of pain the first few days.

As far as drinking, drink away.

Yes, I got my braces off in feb. and the retainer does take some getting used to. just make sure you wear it when you are supposed to or it will mess your teeth up. good luck with it!

I would expect them to be uncomfortable. But if you are having pain, then you should call your orthodontist. Yes, you can drink with them in but you should rinse your mouth out afterward,

Yes, you will have pain. Mine lasted about a week, but it was a dull pain by then.
