In my house, the maximum is two days. They've all been eaten by then.. I checked my friends and got the same answer. One just laughed at the question.

In your house? Well, if they are not all gone I would freeze them. They will only take a few minutes to defrost. I do this with cake & muffins.

You really did give us good chuckle. It's not only the kids it's our husbands, usually all of them.

about 1/2 an hour in my house! Brownies have never lasted long enough to go bad.

I send cookies to Iraq all the time for my friends. Sometimes that can take up to 2 weeks. They have always said the cookies were in great condition when they got there. Here's how I do it: Lay a large storage bag flat on the count. Lay a single layer of cookies in the bag. Run as much air as possible out of the bag with you hands while you close it. Bags packed like this will stack flat in a box and fewer cookies will break. I put a layer of plain, air-popped popcorn in the bottom of the box (no salt or butter) if the cookies are fragile. Sounds weird, I know, but my mom used to do it. It works like packing peanuts, only it's cheap and biodegradable.

I find that they start going stale in about a week, but normally they don't last that long. Just seal them in an air tight container to prolong their life.

They don't last that long around me so I don't worry about it. Two nights ago is fine; your brownes are still good.

I've got two teenagers, a preteen, and a husband--they last about 10 minutes.
they will probably go stale before they actually spoil (as long as they are cake-like).

I am not sure because they would not have lasted for two hours in my house. We would have eaten them all.
