I would like to get a fantastic (corporate) tax law book for my friend. Any recommendations?

I looked a CCH, but got overwhelmed. Any recommendations?

You might want to look at the Ernst & Young 2007 tax guide:

Like any book, it's not perfect, since congress is constantly changing the laws, but this particular volume has some nice commentary about the tax laws. The nice thing about the E&Y tax guide is that it's around $13

Another good reference book would the be CCH Master Tax Guide. But that's closer to $100

As fast as tax law changes, any single book would be out of date by the time it left the printer. Pros use subscription services such as CCH. Unfortunately they are not cheap.
