I recently bought a new LCD 42" Flatscreen TV, and I want to connect 2 cable boxes to it(one is a GlobeCast and one is TimeWarner...which doesn't really matter). Is there a way I can connect both of these to the TV and could just switch from one to the other using my remote?

But how, Cable Boxes need to be on channel 3, and I surely have only one of those!

See Neil N's answer if your TV has at least one input you can use that for the second box (video, audio inputs using yellow, white and red RCA cables).

No inputs?

See if you can set one of the cable boxes to channel 4 output with a possible switch on the rear of the unit. Then use a splitter as a combiner wiring the outputs of the boxes to the outputs of the splitter and using the input side of the splitter to feed the TV input. Yes it works that way.

No channel 4 switch? Feed the second cable box to an old VCR's input and switch the old VCR output to channel 4 use the same connection as above. Leave the VCR on when using this cable box.

Your sign splitting success relies upon on the quantity of sign left on your cable after it is going in the process the 1st splitter. i might try a 2 or 3 way splitter as an test first and hook one leg right into a television and spot in case you have adequate sign. in the experience that your sign is purely too vulnerable you will want a plug in amplifer the two put in place in the previous or after the 1st splitter. in case you have a great sign you're good to flow with purely the splitter. I also have a 4 way splitter feeding a three way splitter on my cable and nonetheless have multiple sign without employing an amplifier.

Sure! Connect 1 box to 1 input of your TV and the 2nd box to the next input available on your TV.

Your TV should be able to accomodate both boxes.

Doesn't the TV have multiple inputs? Surely it must have at least an RF input, an audio/video input, and component video inputs, and possibly an auxilliary input (RF).

Just hook one box to one input and the other box to another input. Then select which input you want to watch using the TV's remote control.
