Will PES2008 work on an American PS3? Online Play?
Hello I live in England, I'm thinking of getting a PS3 from the USA. A few questions:
Will I be able to play my UK friends (who have a European PS3) online at PES2008? What about other games?
Will I need a different power adapter?
Will a 1080p UK HDTV work with it?
Is there any other limitations I should be aware of when using an American PS3 in the UK?

I own US PS3 in Europe. This matters only if you want to play PS2 games, because US 60GB is much better with PS2 games, than PAL version. If you are not planning to play PS2 games - get one from your region. You'll need a 500W power converter. HD is the same for all regions. PS3 games are region free, but PS1/2 games and movies aren't. Online works.

I have a Playstation myself and yes online play is free, Playstation plus has nothing to do with online play you will always have online for free no matter what. I also have Playstation Plus and honestly its worth buying, if i remember right I only pay 17.99 every three months and it gives you full free games, the list is updated every now and then, the only problem is you cannot play your free downloaded games without playstation plus. But if you think about it its still worth it because you can accumulate your library of games everytime new ones are added to playstation plus and play them forever as long as you have playstation plus, and no the online play is not bad, I have an Xbox also and the online play is exactly the same there is no difference. Don't get me wrong i love my Xbox, but my Playstation has so many more features, and you dont have to waste your time and money buying xbox live cards to stay online

Get the UK PS3 so that you won't have any problems at all.
Save yourself from the headaches of getting an imported PS3.

save yurself a few quid and dont get 1...pes 2008 is de biggest load of **** i ever bought apart from de accual ps3....i thought de consol wud be class and was left very dissapointed...de games are no better than de ps2...and pes was unbelievable...played it a few times b4 i gave up...tried fifa...no better

do not get a US PS3, you will have many problems
Lack of game support
new power supply
UK has PAL - US has NTSC encoding
and others
