Hi!
My kitten also did this - although she was very vocal in general. She whined every time she wanted to jump up somewhere, or when she was jumping from one place to another, or when she wanted attention, or when she wanted food, or when she just wanted to whine.... ;-)
Be sure to check her stools for blood, which can be a sign of parasites or simply constipation. You will have to take her for her first checkup this week anyway (if you have only just adopted her) - or for her first injection at 8 weeks of age - so mention it to the vet when you go in.
If you do notice blood, give the vet a call just to be on the safe side.
xx Emmie

When kittens are first born they need Mom's help to go to the bathroom. It's kind of gross, but the mom will actually lick their bits to stimulate urination or bowel movements. It could be that the kitty is having a hard time moving on to the next step of bathroom adulthood. Still, take them to the vet to check that it's not serious.

My cat has done that since she was a kitten. She is 4 years old now. She still cries when she goes poo. I asked the vet - he had no explanation, but said there was nothing wrong with her.

MIght have some kind of infection, and when they're that little, you should definitely ask the vet and get them checked out, might need an antibiotic or something. Poor kitty!!

You know my cat did that when she was a baby too. She would go in the litter box and make a tiny little cry while she was pooing. She grew out of it i guess because she doesnt do it now.

Take her to the vet, you could also try wetting a warm cloth and gently rub her backside and genitalia area.
