"Self Therapy for the Stutterer" is a good book that you can get from Amazon.com or The Stuttering Foundation of America. My family members used it to work through the steps and all gained better speech. One uncle went to a speech therapist who specialized in treating stuttering and found that she used that book in her sessions. You can find specialists in stuttering under "referrals" at www.stutteringhelp.org

I had a lisp for years and it made my life a misery, as it was ammunition for school bullies. I got rid of it with hard work & extensive speech therapy. My best advice is to speak slowly and clearly. Know your subject well and invite the audience to ask questions. Practice in a mirror first.
Bizarely the only time I lisp now is when I'm singing. I'm tone deaf so don't do that in public. lol. I have to say you are very brave to speak in front of people. When you have done it a few times it will get easier. Good Luck.x
