hair color?

My hair has always been a dark brown\black i tried putting highlights in but they always go away i want to dye my hair what color should i dye it i have fairly dark skin(im italian not spainsh or indian) what color?

Leave it alone! Do not I repeat do not dye your hair!! If you don't watch America's next top model this girl she highlighted her hair red and she needed to dye her hair blonde but they couldn't because if they did it will ruin her whole head (that is what the highlights caused!) so they shaved her whole hair. I don't think you would want that!

I have dark hair as well.. I started dying it at 16. when I dye it the dye stays in my hair for a total of 2 weeks and then it turns to this reddish brown. i hate it but im stuck with it. I always liked lighter brown kind of like recent Jennifer Aniston..You know where you can find haircolor ideas? Beautifulhairstyles.com they have alot of celebrity close up pictures. I am always a fan of Jennifer Lopez hair color.

Go to a professional and ask advise. If you don't feel comfortable with that person, go to someone else until you find someone you feel comfortable with. (Not someone who just agrees with you, but someone who is truthful). Then have your hair done professionally to see if you like the results. Used to be, if you didn't like the results they would make changes the same day for free. They want you to be happy with the results so you will return. Burgandy is pretty, or try some fun colors for highlighting.

There are products you can buy, but you have to get the ones for lightening dark hair, not the regular hair dyes.

I don't understand how highlights could just go away, unless you put color on your hair over the highlights. Anyway, if you want a highlight streaked look to your hair , you will have to use a hi lift bleach first.....it will come out a big bird yellow ugly color but don't worry a color of your choice deep red, honey blonde, whatever you decide. will be used over that.The color will be more vibrant and noticeable if you go about it that way.

Did you do the treatments at home? If so... there is no telling what you would get. If you have really dark hair, I would suggest starting with highlights that are within a couple shades of yours to add dimension without it being glaringly obvious it's a die job. Also, if you want it to look nice (or even show up :)) you should go to a professional stylist.

how about a deep red? I always thought that color looked best on a dark skinned person. it doesnt look natural but the tone works well with the color. i don't like highlights too much since you have to keep retouching... since your hair is dark already, i think you should try it. =]

bay be u should dye it a really light brown but DO NOT USE BLONDE OK when u r done dying ur hair wait like a month or like 2 or 3 weeks to put blonde strikes in it but if they go away dont even mess with it any more ok

I've dyed my hair an orangish brownish color, IDK how to explain it and I have dark hair too, but it's a waste of money. Just because you dye it it doesn't mean it's going to stay that way forever. You will see your roots come out, your hair will fry and it's soo not attractive. I say just stay your natural color.

i am the exact same way. i cant decide either but im thinking about putting caramel color or honey blonde highlights just on top. that would look cute.
