i'm running the new version of spybot v1.5. i was able to change system startup entries and remove usage tracks. now, for some reason it says i can't do those things because i "don't have administrator privileges". I AM THE ONLY USER ON THIS COMPUTER. i checked user settings, and it still says i'm admin and have full rights.

i ran updated definitions for spybot, ran a check with it. i also ran checks with Windows Defender and McAfee SecurityCenter (these were all running before spybot was even installed, everything worked correctly)

how do i fix this problem?

Go to Control Panel > Users Management > Open your own profile and change the user privileges of your own.
If the above does not work, log on from Safe mode and go to the user management to change your privileges.

(1) Spybot had a lot of problems the first time they came out with the fresh 1.5, so they came out quickly with a new download for it. Check for the latest. (A symptom you might notice is, it is *painfully* slow to start!)

(2) Your problem might be worth reporting as a bug. Go to the Spybot page and look for support. It's one of the few free softwares that offer a tad of support.

(3) Join and watch (often!) the Spybot forum discussions, and search for and perhaps even report your bug: http://forums.spybot.info/
