Because Palestine never actually belonged to the Palestinians. The land was called Israel until the Romans re-named it Palistinae after the Philistines to shame the Jews (Israelites and Philistines were enemies) and for the longest time, Jews and Arabs who lived in the territory named Palestine were called Palestinians--there was never a national identity of "Palestinian" because it was never a nation! Ever!

Tibet was taken by military force and Tibet has continued to fight that force .
"At the time of China's invasion in 1949, Tibet possessed all the attributes of an independent country recognized by international law, including a defined territory, a government, tax system, unique currency, unique postal system and stamps, army, and the ability to carryout international relations. Two years later, the 17-point agreement was imposed on the Tibetan Government by the threat of arms after 40,000 PLA troops had already seized Tibet's eastern provincial capital, Chamdo. "
Israel was created with the intervention of the United Nations as a solution to a
(impending) civil war in the Palestinian area . The Palestinian building at the USA World's Fair at that time was a "Tribute to Zionism" . The seperation of the Jewish and Muslim areas was done as much to help the Muslims as it was done to ( unsucessfully , it seems ) stop a bloody civil war . The hatred of the Jews steming from the verses' in the Qu'ran spilled over the borders of these two now independant states . And while it is true that some decisions made in the division of land may have been biased in the formation of Israel , it is primarily the fault of the Muslim Palastinians who refused to participate in the U.N. hearings and decision making . They refused because the Qu'ran teaches them that all of ( The original ) Palestine must become Islamic to satify Allah's will . But the Muslims of Palastine had little to offer at that time as the people were poor ( as taught as being holy ) and not allowed to use modern methods in business such as borrowing capital from banks . Much of their time was consumed with religious rituals and not in gaining wealth and power . In former times they stole these things . And this was the basis of the impending civil war between the Jews and the Muslims . Granted ,as practiced in Palastine in the 1940's neither religion was too tolerant of others beliefs . This concept is still observed today as both Isreal and Palastine are "Religious States" like the Vatican .

Palestine wasn't recognized by many countries. Also, many countries were trying to find a homeland for Jews following WW2. Tibet was recognized by countries, and the Chinese weren't looking for a homeland. But I do support the actions of Israel and others to give land back to the Palestinians.

If you mean me, I am equally concerned about all nations under the oppression of others. I mentioned free Tibet because it was relevant to my answer about choosing a new Dalai Lama. I believe Palestinians are being heinously slaughered and oppressed, blamed for terrorism when they are employing the only tactics they have to defend themselves, and are getting an all around bad wrap. The only real difference between the two is that Palestine is more capable of defense and gets more publicity than Tibet. In reality no one can defeat China because of their sheer numbers. We get no trade or benefit from Tibet, so we don't care what happens to it. It gets no publicity. So, I think it deserves a voice from people like me because otherwise, it would have no voice at all.

Palestine is rooted in the two-pronged Palestine Liberation Front (PLF) and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), murderous terrorist group/governing body that has politically vowed to eradicate Israel off the face of the planet, and has slaughtered tens of thousands of innocent civilian people.
Just this week world leaders STUPIDLY pledged over $7 BILLION in "aid" to dubious Palestine, and the U.S. pledged 1/2 A BILLION DOLLARS (!) of taxpayers' money to "help" Palestine, this motley crew whose leaders ALWAYS siphoned international aid into personal Swiss Bank Accounts (SBAs) as did their notorious and now dead TERRORIST LEADER, the PSYCHO Yasser Arafat, who won the Nobel Peace Prize... what a JOKE! The Nobel Award is now totally meaningless. But in the end the joke was on greedy Arafat, because he died from the excruciating ravages of FULL BLOWN AIDS, contracted from a street prostitute, a great CURSE upon him from the God of Israel... this was his TRUE REWARD for all the EVIL he propagated, so well deserved.
Where as, the monks and populous of Tibet, an isolated peaceful people, do no harm to anyone, and are clamped under the totalitarianism of Communist China.

Because everyone lays claim to the middle east as man has inhabited and fought over that region of the world for thousands of years (or more depending on your views).
Tibet has natural and cultural resources that someone in the world wants, and the leadership of Tibet is willing to share, but China is not.

Perhaps because Tibet does not have a history of Chinese living there.
Israel/Palestine does have a history of Jews living there.
Also, most people are not sympathetic with Palestinians because of the targeted attacks against civilians they employ.

I think the Christians, Jews, and Muslims have legitimate claims to palestine. It's got religious significance to all three religions.
My family argues about this alot, my mother says that before the Jews went there after WWii, it was all just marshes, and noone really cared about it. She says that only after the Jew's made it nice the Muslims wanted it back.
I don't really know all that much about it, except that everyone over there is being really silly.

Wow is that a loaded question. before the Jews took Israel back over (its changed hands several times) it was Israel. Palestine didn't exist till after the fact. Its a good cause but...
Tibet was taken over by a nation that already existed, China.
