That depends on what type of processor and how much RAM you have on your computer. Vista is only good on dual core processors with at least 2 GIG of RAM. Basically only the newest desktops and laptops. Otherwise, your computer won't function. I have been working with Vista at work and XP at home and I have to say I like Vista just a little better. But again, check your computer's capabilities and hardware before making the decision. Vista is an expensive investment if your computer won't handle it. Good Luck.

well, Vista tries to control your life, crashes frequently, has more bugs than other OSs combined, and needs more CPU power/ RAM for a few measly "graphics effects"

if you want an operating system that does any of the above, get vista
if you dont want any of the above, stay with XP, or switch to Apple

NO. Seriously. It is just an interim OS.
The new upandcoming OS for Windows will arrive in 2010 or 2011 called Vienna. That's what you want to wait for.

If you value your computing sanity then NO do not get Vista it will drive you to distraction vista SUCKS Believe me it really really sucks!!
