No matter how much money you spend, the wedding is likely to be truly memorable to just a handful of people (you and your fiance, your parents, and maybe sisters/really close best girlfriends). Everyone else will quickly forget the details. So, if you're willing to blow a wad on money for a few people to remember a wedding they'll remember anyway, then go ahead. But if you're doing it to impress other people, then spend the money on a fabulous honeymoon or house instead.

Original ideas how? Like original favors or original themes? Original colors or an original gown? There is always the crazy people who model their wedding after their favorite TV show/movie/video game/etc.
Try just picking up a wedding magazine to see what is in there. If money is no object, talk to a seamstress about making the bride a one-of-a-kind dress that you can design. Also, try looking into a lighting person to do your wedding. Have them shine lights on the centerpieces around the room, so that it looks really elegant. Look into exotic flowers or a really secluded area to get married. The possibilities are endless!

I would really recommend looking at this site:
http://www.reneweddreams.110mb.com
I also love original weddings and like to come up with fun ideas. That is why I started this site. Though new, Renewed Dreams has a lot of content and some very unique wedding and reception ideas.

Well, this is not an original idea- but don't have an "anything goes" attitude about the budget. Set realistic limits as to what you will spend on each category. Otherwise, you could easily overspend, and you will probably regret it. You can have a fabulous wedding without spending a fortune.
Check theknot.com for ideas- you can browse through people's profiles and some post pictures of everything they want, from flowers to cakes. It's a good way to get ideas.

It depends on if you want it formal or not. I always thought that a cool informal wedding idea would be to have it on a beach. You two wear casual clothes...dockers and a beach shirt for you, and a white sundress for her. Have everyone else dress summer casual and make sure that everyone (including you) is barefoot. Hand out embroidered blankets for the guests to sit on for the wedding (and to keep afterwards as a favor). Have a barbeque reception and dancing afterwards on the beach.

Hershey kisses wrapped in tulle, tied with ribbon and make your man or woman tag. Cookies. Mints. The speciality M&Ms with messages are lovable yet oh so costly. Oriental procuring and advertising Co. has candy in bulk. verify it out. good success.
