I read a long time ago that the Catholic church and the Lutheran church were talking about merging. Is that true? Any progress there? What's the latest on that? Thanks!

They have been in discussion for years and have recently issued a joint statement on their agreement on grace as the initiation for faith. Both sides are pursuing communion. Praise God, we worship an awesome God!

I haven't heard anything about this until today, but it would be interesting if it happened. A lot of the objections that Martin Luther had to 16th-century Catholicism have been rectified by the Church (as far as I know).

However, I think the Catholic Church still has some cleaning up to do in its own house before it invites the Lutherans to return.
