I bought my boyfriend a really nice cell phone on Ebay because I got it at a great price. Well... come to find out, it's a Verizon Wireless phone and he has a Cingular plan so it's not going to work.
I bought him a new phone but in the mean time I need to get rid of the first phone so I can get my money back. I want to put it on Ebay. Hopefully it being Christmas it will go pretty fast.
I know how to set up the page with the item I want to sell... but that's it. How do I know how much to ask for shipping costs? And when my item sells... how do I ship it and get my money?
I feel so helpless. My boyfriend is pro at Ebay but I need my money back NOW so I can't ask him for help without letting him know what I got him.
I would really appreciate it if someone could just step me through it.

Take it too the Post Office and have it weighed for local and international post. Then if you have a sellers account on ebay. Take a pic of the phone.
Go to sell button, then follow the requirements. List under Cell phones. Check what others are selling for, list at slightly less and then upload you pic all in the selling requirments.

Contact the seller and let him/her know what's going on. Maybe they have a phone for sale that does work with Verizon and they can replace the one you bought for the cost of the shipping.
If not, they should take the phone back - perhaps charging you a small restocking fee - as long as you return it in its original packaging (which you should have if it's a present you haven't given yet).

you have to contact the seller, if you explain to the seller what happened, he will deal with it and give you a refund, and you can send the phone back. Some sellers are very reasonable.
