Alot of girls have the same problem. People don't like being rejected. It makes them feel bad about themselves and have low self esteem. They want to know what the problem is so they can fix it

You do not sound a like frigid ice witch but more like a woman who is frustrated, angry (more at herself), controlling , dictatorial, and alone. Most people will ask questions in most circumstances---that is only natural. The issue you are complaining about is common to both sexes; all you have to do is read the stories on this site. When you say no, deny somebody something ,break a friendship or a romance, it is only natural to try to know why. Why does that seem to bother you so much, make you so bitter and irritated?. You seem to think that asking for an explanation or a response is the same as not accepting your decision to the point where you generalize and are willing to malign half of the human race. Even if a guy once broke your heart or wanted to continue to see you when you wanted to end it, or you are of a different sexual orientation, does not call for the venom in your piece. Please try to make peace with yourself, or seek help, or get over the anger you feel. Good luck.

To answer this question, you have to realize that men in our society are tasked with being the initiator. It's on us to put ourselves out there and risk humiliation and rejection. It is not fun. So most guys are either going to be really reluctant to ask at all (maybe 90% of them) or they are agressive and don't want to hear what you have to say.
The truth is however that they are just trying to protect themselves when they assume you are playing hard-to-get. If you reject me, then there has to be a "reason" for it, otherwise I am deficient in some manner, and I don't have the self-esteem for that, so I'll keep trying despite all obvious signs that I shouldn't. This is of course just a general take on things and it could be other things too (maybe he really does like you), but in the final analysis, guys like these are really insecure.

It's usually the nice guys that need explanations. They usually get more attached. It's not just guys, many girls do the same.
I've turn down lots of girls that keep coming back. It doesn't bother me like it's bothering you. I've done it once before. It was with someone that broke up with me. I did it because I thought she still had feelings for me, which she did, but she wanted to be with this other guy. A few weeks later, I gave up with her. She came crawling back and doing the same to me.

I don't think you sound frigid at all. If you are frigid then I guess I am too LOL.
anyways I think they probably just want to know so they can know what they did wrong so they can win your or the next girl over better.

because girls are crazy
and
sometimes we try to break up with people just so we can see if they'll try to get us back
and
sometimes we play hard to get
and
sometimes we play games just for fun
so how are boys supposed to know?

Maybe they wan't to know what you didn't like about them so they an work on it for their future relationships. How else do we learn other than from our mistakes? I learn a lot about myself in relationships.
