If you think it's easy to break up with someone your engaged to, then you too young to be engaged and you don't fully understand the commitment behind the engagement.

Some couples are engaged as infants.
But, think about this. You're right, if you're young you might break up, it could happen. Some people only want to be engaged once, if you look at engagement as nit much of a commitment, you may end up engaged several times in your life, and such a special thing won't mean as much.
Wait a while, it Will really be worth it, and 100 times more memorable!

There isn't really a minimum age to get engaged. You can get engaged whenever. I got engaged when I was 18. When I met my fiance' I had just turned 17. I am now 19, and we are getting married in March. I think it just depends if you are ready for the commitment or not.

Even marriage has a way out! But as for "engagement" it is just an understanding between the couple - a "pledge" to get married at some point in the future. You could do this at 16, 10 or whenever.

You can get engaged at any age and only you know when you are ready. But you should NOT get engaged thinking it's not a commitment, it is a commitment, a commitment towards marriage. I'd advise you to wait until you know that you are with that person you want to spend the REST of your life with, without thinking of breaking up. If this thought sounds scary to you, then you are NOT ready to be engaged.

You can get engaged at any age. What age you can actually get married is dependent upon where you live.
However, if you're saying engaged is not committing that much, then you are not taking marriage seriously enough. And if you have to ask these questions, you're too young to be thinking about marriage.

There is no minimum age for engagement and you can get married in some places a lot younger than 16.

An engagement is a commitment. If the people involved are still in middle school I wouldn't take that seriously. That's why kids that age have promise rings: they don'tmean anything but shows commitment.
Good luck
