If someone has been diagnosed with MRSA, can they ever not be colonized (have a negative nose swab)?

It isn't typical for most people to have a negative nose swab for MRSA. We all have it, to some extent -- the issue is when the population runs rampant, and causes symptoms.

other antibiotics like
Vancomycin
BIG DEAL, lots of noise, scare people and theres nothing to the story.

Probably not.
About one out of three of us carries MRSA in our nostrils at any given time - the problem occurs when you get it in a broken area of skin.
MRSA IS a big deal, since people do die of it!
1] wash your hands - before eating, after toilet, after blowing nose or sneezing or coughing into hand, after traveling on elevators, escalators, in rest rooms.
2] wear clean clothes every day
3] do not share razors, toothbrush, washcloths, towels, etc.
4] I keep tissues and hand sanitizer on my desk - blow your nose, use sanitizer!
5] I also wipe down my phone and keyboard every week, and no eating at the desk! Keep only covered beverages at desk!
6] if you do injure yourself, with skin broken; wash thoroughly ubder warm running water with soap, rinse, and cover with bandage.
If it was on something 'dirty' check how long since last tetanus shot, and use antibiotic ointment.
